The Ergo Baby Carrier Is An Easy Way To Do Errands With a Child Sleeping In The Car.
It seems like every time I try to drive around and get some errands done, my child falls asleep. I hate to wake her, it's often not convenient to sit in the car till she is done with her nap, and if I try to put her in the stroller she is likely to wake up or I am stuck pushing a stroller and a shopping cart. My solution? The ERGO Baby Carrier.
Not only can I easily transfer my child to the carrier (front position), but if she starts to wake up, I can pat her back, say shh, etc. and lull her back to sleep (hard to do when she's in the stroller). It's true that the front position isn't quite as comfortable for me as the back position with an older child, but it's doable and I have found that for short stops, I can even carry my 4-year-old in the front. I have even successfully taken my two-year-old in and out of the car for two different errands without waking her.
One suggestion ... if you normally carry your child on back, but are going to put him/her in the front position while sleeping, first loosen the shoulder straps. I guess it's because we stick out more in front.
I hope this helps you get some of your errands done more efficiently too.
